Kia Among First Manufacturers to Offer Android Integration

Some automakers already have infotainment systems that support iOS integration, allowing you to sync your Apple device with the car to access music, navigation and contacts. According to Kantar, 51% of Smartphone sales in the U.S. last year were attributed to Android. And that number jumps to 70.1% worldwide.

So it seems that Kia is looking to take advantage of that market share by introducing the first Android-based console integration in their cars as soon as later this year. Tentatively labeled as Android AVN -- or Audio-Video-Navigation -- expect to see the system in the new 2014 Kia Soul.

Details are hard to come by at this point, but it only seems sensible for Kia to cash-in on the massive amount of Smartphone users who currently don't have any options for syncing their mobile device to the car.

Let us know, are you an Android user and would this new feature benefit you?
