Every year MotorTrend has “The Big Test.” A comparison of vehicles from each segment to determine a clear 1st place winner. The June and July issues of MotorTrend reveal the results of two “Big Tests”; the compact car segment, and the full-size sedan. Let us see how Kia fared.
The first test was the feature of the June issue, and pitted the best full-size sedans on the market against each other. The Kia Cadenza was compared to the Ford Taurus, Toyota Avalon, Chevrolet Impala, and Chrysler 300.
The Cadenza amazed with its sleek styling, roominess, exceptionally smooth ride, and array of luxury features. And if that weren’t enough, the Cadenza’s low pricing was the cherry on the Sundae prompting the testers and vehicle experts at MotorTrend to proclaim the Cadenza the number 1 full-size sedan.
The July issue will showcase the best of the best in the compact car segment. Compact cars are becoming increasingly popular as people are looking for an escape from the wallet obliterating gas pumps. Keeping in mind that compact car buyers aren't just looking for an efficient, but fun to drive car, MotorTrend took into consideration best value, features, and safety as well as performance.
The competitors in this test were the 2014 models of the Kia Forte, Nissan Sentra, Honda Civic, Dodge Dart and the Mazda 3. Experts raved as the Forte combined great performance, fuel efficiency, great pricing, and an endless list of exclusive features prompting the Forte into 1st place glory.
