The 2016 Kia Sedona has a quiet and spacious interior, a very comfortable high-end seating option, a smooth ride, and a modern infotainment system.

It has a sliding seat system that moves the middle row into a compact space, freeing up lots of storage capacity. On the most expensive model, it swaps those for a pair of airline-style lounge chairs with excellent comfort--the future airport or adult-living shuttle. The UVO infotainment system includes app capability from iTunes and Google Play (including compatibility with Pandora, iHeartRadio, and Yelp) plus SiriusXM Travel Link information on traffic, weather, fuel prices, and more. It also uses Siri Eyes Free connectivity and Google Local Search systems to help find and navigate to points of interest. The Sedona gets Kia's first high-power USB charging port, and there's a 115-volt AC outlet on some trims, too--a combo that all but obviates the need for a factory-installed rear-seat entertainment system.

KIA Unveils New GT4 Stinger

High performance was a major theme at the 2014 North American Auto Show in Detroit and not to be out done Kia rolled out a striking new sports car concept, which is believed to be a preview of the automaker’s first sports car.  Talk of a KIA sports car has been making the rounds for several years now and the unveiling of the GT4 Stinger concept proved to be worth the wait.

Kia says the concept pays homage to the glory days of purebred, affordable sports cars, suggesting that the eventual production version should prove an enticing project.  The GT4 Stinger is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder touting a hefty 315 horsepower, and drive goes to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.  The GT4 Stinger also benefits from a host of traditional sports car touches such as custom center-lock 20-inch wheels, performance brakes, and wide rubber.

“It’s an authentic 2+2 sports car that can turn heads as a daily driver while also being right at home on the track,” said Tom Kearns, chief designer at Kia Design Center America.  “It’s about purity, simplicity and timelessness.”

Inside the GT4 Stinger you find bucket seats covered in molded leather with billet-aluminum pedals and a flat-bottomed steering wheel underscoring the car’s racing intentions.  Rather than interior door handles, pull straps with red stitching recall sports cars of half a century before.  The concept is slightly shorter than the Kia Forte and sits 9 inches lower than the Kia Rio.
