NFL Has a Winner for Opening Weekend

If you grew up playing video games, no doubt you played Tecmo Bowl.  This was pre Madden days.  Tecmo Bowl was about as popular as it got for a football video game.  Just about everyone wanted to play with Bo Jackson.  He was the Tecmo Bowl stud.

By todays’ standards the graphics aren’t very good but until Madden came along, this game was the bomb.  You have cheat codes you can enter into just about any game you play on the devices of today.  Back in the day, Bo Jackson was his own cheat code.  He literally could not be tackled.  There was always an argument over who was going to get to be the Los Angeles team.

As we all settled in to watch some great opening weekend football, we see a familiar sight as Tecmo Bowl is on our screen and as true to the game, the ball is handed off to Bo Jackson, but instead of running forward, he runs back through the endzone and through the tunnel.  What could he be up to?

Stephen Curry and Kia: MVP Talent

After Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors’ to the best regular season record in NBA history surpassing the great Chicago Bulls of the 90’s, it was no surprise to see him win the Kia NBA Most Valuable Player Award.

He joins only three other guards to have ever won back to back MVP awards alongside Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Steve Nash.  What was unique is he swept all 130 first place votes from a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters in the United States and Canada, and a first place vote from the only Kia MVP fan vote.

Behind Curry, the reigning champion Warriors opened the season with 24 straight victories -- one of many NBA records they broke on their way to the all-time single-season wins mark. They set NBA records for single-season road victories (34) and consecutive home regular-season wins (54, including 18 to finish last season). Golden State also became the first team in NBA history to go an entire season without losing back-to-back games or losing to the same team twice.

In yet another NBA record, the Warriors made 1,077 three-pointers, becoming the first team with 1,000. Curry powered the attack with his 402 three-pointers, shattering his own single-season league record of 286 set last season -- an increase of 116. Kia Make a Tailgate Party on Wheels

Ballast Point is a brewery based in San Diego, and its popular offerings can be served out of the back of this custom Sedona via the two taps, to which four half-kegs can be attached.

The Ballast Point Sedona actually made its debut at the 2014 SEMA show, but it’s back again by popular demand.  The Ballast Point Sedona features a hand-formed solid mahogany shell with a flip-top roof and fold-down front bar. Removing the roof required the installation of a custom boxed-steel frame that incorporates heavy-duty hinges and struts to allow for the wood clam-shell top to open a full 90 degrees. While one of the Sedona's power sliding doors has been welded shut, the other remains fully functional to allow access for a bartender into the open-air cabin. The rear shell is also removable, allowing patrons to enjoy a frosty beverage from the tailgate as well. The passenger compartment has been gutted to make room for two functioning Micro Matic taps, a jockey box with 120-feet of copper beer-cooling coils and up to four half-barrel kegs of Ballast Point's finest. Being on time is imperative.  It is imperative not just to be socially conscientious, but also to be efficient and respected.

Time is money in today’s busy world.  There are too many things to do in any given day and not enough time to get it all done, so when something or someone doesn’t respect your time, or lack thereof, it can be extremely frustrating.

A perfect example of the importance of being on time or for on-time delivery is a personal story from this past weekend.  I was out of town at a dance competition for my daughter.  The morning of the last day of competition, I called our lunch order in to a restaurant.  It was 10:00 am. and I asked for lunch to be delivered any time between then and 12:30 pm.  This request was specific because competitions are run on a very tight schedule.  They have very little leeway room and I knew our lunch needed to be there by 12:30 so my daughter would have enough time to eat and digest her food before her next dance competed.

Well…it was an epic fail on the restaurant’s part.  They delivered our lunch almost an hour late.  As I was taking my daughter’s food upstairs to her, she was coming down the stairs to go compete her next dance.  Needless to say, she ate lunch in the car on our way home after the competition was over.

Kia is Still the Best in the Business

It is hard to believe it has been seven years since Kia revolutionized the new car warranty by extending manufacturer protection for owners to seven years.

Kia is not scared to push the envelope with sleek futuristic looking crossover concepts and they delivered again.  The “urban hybrid vehicle” is the third hybrid or electric vehicle on Kia’s stage.
